Partners in crime
The Doctor returns....
Last night saw the return to our screens of Doctor Who series 4 or to us oldies season 30.
Episode one of this series entitled "Partners in crime" saw the return to the series of Donna Noble ably played by Catherine Tate.
After leaving the Doctor to travel on alone at the end of the Runaway Bride, Donna has spent most of her time searching for the Doctor, investigating one strange occurrence after another until she start to investigate strange goings on at Adipose Industries. Their she discovers the sinister Miss Foster (Sarah Lancashire) and is reunited with the Doctor (David Tennant).
A seemingly simple miracle fat cure pill turns out to be something far more other worldly with the discarded fat cells becoming "the Adipose", alien children being looked after by intergalactic nanny Foster.
In main the episode was more of a re-introduction to the character of Donna but nonetheless was nicely handled, in particular the scene where Donna and the Doctor first get reacquainted via some smartly shot mime. The sudden reappearance of Rose Tyler (Billie Piper) was a brilliantly unexpected move, as I for one did not expect to see her till later in the series.
We now look forward to the continuing adventures of our favourite Timelord....
Welcome back Doctor, we missed you.
