Another week, another film….
Went to see Ocean’s Thirteen last night at the Odeon and was very glad I did.
After the disappointment of the second film in this series it was good to see the film getting back to the sort of things that made the 2001 re-make of the classic rat pack movie such a success.
Once again the cast was top notch with all the usual suspects reprising their roles of the previous two outings. In this instalment, Reuben (Elliot Gould) lies ill in hospital after falling foul of former business partner Willie Bank, superbly played by Al Pacino.
After helping Bank to build a new hotel and casino, Reuben is forced to sign over everything, leaving him penniless which leads to him having a heart attack and losing his will to carry on.

Upon hearing of their mentors problems Danny Ocean (George Clooney) and the rest of the gang make a pledge to get revenge for Reuben by hitting Bank’s new hotel on it’s grand opening night.
What follows a whirlwind of schemes and counter schemes designed to not only ruin the opening of the hotel and casino but also deprive Bank of winning a coveted award which he has won for all of his previous hotels.
With the cast themselves openly disappointed with how the second film turned out this is a welcome return to form.
If you were a fan of the first film but left bewildered and disappointed by the second, then this is worth your attention.
