Congratulations to the Colorado Avalanche’s Joe Sakic for notching his 600th goal in the NHL.
Only the 17 th player in NHL history to reach this mark, Sakic also joins a rather elite list of players in the last 30 years of competition who have had 5 point games at the age of 37 or above.

With 2 goals and 3 assists in last nights 7-5 victory over the Calgary Flames, Sakic (37) joined Mario Lemieux (40) in 2005, Brett Hull (37) in 2002 and the great one himself Wayne Gretsky who managed the feat in 1999 at the age of 38.
As usual the ever modest Av’s captain was more concerned with the result than the momentous achievement.
“The opportunity was there and it’s not something that you’d write up, but I’ll take it any way I can,” Sakic said. “The most important thing is getting the win, we needed it really bad”.
So congratulations again Joe.
