A Friendship, That Became a Rivalry…A Rivalry, That Became a Battle.
Another visit to the Odeon in Lincoln and another interesting film….
The Prestige is a tale of two rival magicians whose desperation to become the best leads to some remarkable events. Christian Bale and Hugh Jackman star as Alfred Borden & Robert Angier who start out as assistants to an established magician but quickly develop rival acts of their own, constantly trying to out do one another in an effort to become the greatest magician of their age.
I don’t really wanna go into too much plot details as it would spoil the film for anyone who has not yet seen the it, suffice to say their attempts to out do one other quickly spiral dangerously out of control.
This film has a superb supporting cast including Michael Caine, Scarlett Johansson, Andy Serkis & even David Bowie as “mad scientist” Nikolas Tesla.
This is definitely one to watch if you like your films with a splash of weird . . . .
