Snakes on a Plane

I went to see “Snakes on a Plane” at the Odeon in Lincoln last night.
Having been quietly excited waiting for the film to come out, i am pleased to say i wasn’t disappointed. With an equal measure of scares and laughs this film was pretty much what i thought it would be.

Yet again Samuel L Jackson proved he is the undisputed king of cool in his role as FBI agent Neville Flynn, while the supporting cast was equally as entertaining, particularly Gerard Plunkett as the obnoxious Paul Oswald, who had you really hoping that he would meet a sticky end….

Although a lot of people will probably be put off by the brutally simple title, personally i thought it was a stroke of genius by the film makers to adopt the “exactly what it says on the tin” approach.
In short this was indeed a Plane with lots (and lots) of deadly snakes on board, set up by a crime lord in an attempt to bring down the plane and kill the only witness to a murder, Sean Jones (Nathan Phillips).

Is this the greatest film ever made - NO.
Is it a reasonable way to spend an 1 hour an 45 mins of your life - YES.
If you are looking for an action movie to rival Die Hard you will be disappointed, but if like me you were looking for a bit of harmless fun then i highly recommend you check it out.

Felgercarb Rating - 7/10
